Who Am I?

This a daunting question that is only sometimes the easiest to answer. However, a bit of wandering and meandering about the keyboard may lead to me sharing some background of interest.

Currently, I’m a wannabe author. Two novels are presently being written in the Scrivener app (I recommend it, even with its more complex learning curve). The first novel is a contemporary piece about a retired grand master thief discovering that magic is real — about 15,000 or so words in (writer’s block is a thing). The second novel is mostly a collection of exciting scenes adding up to about 3,000 words dealing with a young ranger who may be a mage, a powerful and impatient wizard of renown, an old warrior who insists he is not past his prime, and a mysterious half-elven waif rescued along the way.

I can get lost in various MMORPG games, although I mostly stay with Elder Scrolls Online. I fall into resource management style games for local desktop play and recently returned to the digital Magic: the Gathering playing in their online Arena.

Paper Magic is a great deal of fun; my son will try to get my interest re-energized, even though I mostly see it as a money sink. However, I could be convinced there is a collectability aspect that may lure me in.

Otherwise, I help people help people — that’s the best description I have for what I do to pay the bills, although I would also like to do something with the hobbies above for them to be self-sustaining.

Please feel free to contact me; I’m almost always online and happy to chat.

UPDATE March 2023: “The Bellweather Chronicles” (a working title for book two) is now over 10,000 words, and more ideas are still flowing in. ~R.
